The J.B. Hewlitt e-Tourism Future Leader Bursary and Student Competition
One of the goals of Canada-e-Connect is to foster a collaborative environment for development. Brian Hewlitt , CIO itravel2000 has generously come forward to add to help achieve this goal by sponsoring the J.B. Hewlitt e-Tourism Future Leader Bursary and Student Competition.
This competition offers graduate and senior undergraduate students the opportunity to win a scholarship to participate in the first Canada-e-Connect Conference in Vancouver and receive a $2,000 bursary towards their education.
Students were asked to submit a research or business proposal based on the topic "how can the Internet and new emerging technologies be leveraged to market Canadian travel experiences to the world".

Jens Thraenhart, Alan Jeon & Brian Hewlitt
Alan Jeon is this year's winner because his business concept submission stood out. Alan’s vision involves leveraging the newest technological advancement in the telecommunication to build an internet-based hospitality company that provides travel advices and personal concierge services in real-time to travellers, travelling with GPS-enabled mobile devices. The concept is innovative and we are proud to support Alan’s vision by awarding him this bursary.
