
David Vogt
CEO, Mobile Muse
David Vogt is an innovator and entrepreneur with an active corporate, academic and R&D portfolio.
In the R&D area David champions a set of advanced collaborative research and development projects in mobile and social media technologies, including the Mobile MUSE Network and the Global Urban Sustainability Solutions Exchange (GUSSE). In his corporate role David is CEO of CrowdTrust Technologies, a web 2.0 start-up in the collective intelligence arena. He also shepherds a flock of early-stage media ventures and is an active contributor to a number of private and public boards. As an academic David is Director of Digital Learning Projects in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he frames innovative applications of learning technologies.
In an original career David was an astronomer and Director of Observatories at UBC. Then he became a Director of Science World, a public science museum. In 1996 he founded and became CEO of Brainium Technologies Inc., a pioneer of Internet-based learning and wireless devices for K-12 classrooms. More recently David was Chief Research Officer at the New Media Innovation Centre in Vancouver.
